Alan Cox

Alan Cox has been central to the development of the Linux kernel since its early days. He used to maintain the 2.2 branch of the Linux kernel and was the ‘second in command’ after Linus Torvalds himself, before reducing his involvement to study for an MBA. Alan is a security and IP policy advisor for FIPR. He has been awarded an honorary fellowship of the University of Wales: Trinity St David and an honorary doctorate and fellowship of the University of Swansea for his work on Linux and open source.
