Dr Sara Marino

Dr Sara Marino is a Senior Lecturer in Media and Communications at London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. As a digital ethnographer and migration scholar, her research is broadly focused on the social, cultural, and political implications of everyday practices of connectivity among migrants and refugees, and how these shape their identity, self-representation practices, and acts of belonging.

Her most recent works have opened up to include the role of technologies and social media as platforms where social justice and human rights discourses can be actively enacted by migrants and refugees, and how these shape contemporary politics within and beyond Europe.
