Email your candidates
Thank you everyone who helped to show how controversial and bad the Digital Economy Act is. We didn’t stop the Bill becoming law: but we did make politicians understand how unpopular disconnecting people would be; and shown that it would be a breach of human rights.
There are other ways we have won as well. We have built a movement. Over 20,000 people write letters actions, and are ready to do so again. People also joined ORG, and their – maybe your – generous donations mean we will be better equipped to fight this Act, and future abuses. This is a very serious achievement.
We aren’t about to stop. Today, we are asking you to email your candidates, through a new ORG Action tool. We are able to put these campaigning tools in place because ORG is growing.
We now have a week and a half to email as many candidates as possible and ask them to commit to stopping the worst of the Digital Economy Act. With a new parliament, younger MPs, several parties recognising our concerns and the prospect of coalition government, we have every reason to expect different attitudes from our new representatives.
