Hello and welcome to Open Rights Group (ORG). You’re warmly invited to join our campaign for digital rights.
ORG has worked since 2005 to preserve and promote citizen and consumer rights in the digital age. We’ve caused real policy change in e-voting, copyright reform and privacy online. These remain as priority campaigns and we’re now also involved in the fight against the database state and network discrimination.
The UK Podcasters Assocation (UKPA) was founded in 2006 to protect podcasters’ rights and promote the culture of online media. It has been closely allied with ORG’s past campaigns for online media makers.
As the shape and scale of online media has evolved, causing dramatic changes in how people create and consume media, the UKPA’s chairman and trustees – considering that there is greater strength in numbers – have decided it makes good sense for savvy podcasters and media makers to join forces with ORG.
We want podcast producers and media makers in particular to take the lead in a new Media Makers Group, which will be driven by supporters’ creative energies. This will add significantly to ORG as we produce a new web-zine as the focus for the UK digital rights community.
Please come to a meeting in September (details below) to discuss these changes, plot out the zine and plan further activities.

You should also consider a regular donation – our core costs are funded entirely by our supporters, which means our voice really resonates with politicians and in industry, but also that we need all the support we can get!
